Meet The Instructor
Kayla O’Donnell “Mermaid Kay” is a professional mermaid and SDI Mermaid Instructor Ambassador. She has assisted on the development of the SDI mermaid courses and is working on more advanced courses to come. Kayla has been mermaiding for a few years now and loves guiding new mermaids to reaching their potential. In her freetime, she can commonly be seen cleaning the waterways and promoting marine debris awareness. Kayla’s Birds Underwater journey began with being a manatee guide in the bay to educate others on how to protect our local manatees. Through the instruction of SDI, she has been able to earn her snorkeling instructor and open water scuba certification. Her goal is to share everything she has learned over the years so that others are able to turn their dreams into reality!
