Crystal River is a terrific area to kayak. King Bay is an easy to navigate circle of about 3 miles in diameter, and 660 acres of water. We give you a map and easy directions to follow, you will not get lost within our bay, there is no significant current. We have world famous springs like Three Sisters and many lesser known ones that are pretty to see and allow you get away and schedule your day as you wish. Jurassic and Hunter Springs are well known and popular for their clarity, as well as other springs on the east side of the bay. The headsprings of Three Sisters Springs is open to kayakers from May 1st to November 15th, when the sanctuaries go up for the winter season. You will see plenty of manatees while kayaking on the cold winter days, and there is always an abundance of wildlife to see on Kings Bay including occasional dolphin sightings and our local Tarpon that gather right next to our dive center. We rent kayaks from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and again from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. It is recommended that you book your kayak on line in advance, especially on weekends. Ask for a map so you don’t miss out on any good locations. Please call us at +352-563-2763 to reserve.

You can go on your own to find manatee, look at birds such as egrets, heron, osprey, etc., or view the wildlife. River otters, raccoons, and occasionally alligators and dolphins make an appearance. This can be a nice way to spend the afternoon after your manatee tour or make a whole day of it and enjoy our peaceful river.
